Alphabet Soup Part 2

Alphabet Soup Part 2 - Self Evaluation

This project enabled me to work with close with some one that again, I didn't really know that well. It was a good project because in order to complete the brief, we had to design a typeface based around the personality of our partner. This meant that I was able to get to know this person better.

When I was talking to Robyn and asking her questions I found that I would not be short on ideas as she had some very interesting and slightly unusual trait to her personality.

When it came to thinking about my ideas and designs for the typeface, I spent along time planning and trying to cram as many aspects of her personality into the typeface. This made the letter forms look fairly crowded and I found that my final Alphabet would not fit on the A1 sheet without making them look ridiculously small.

As a result I had to re-plan my alphabet and this left with an extremely small amount of time to finish the final piece.
I also did not test the red pen out on the tracing paper and it left sticky marks all over the final letterforms that did not represent the designs I had spent quite a lot of time on.

I leant that I needed to stop underestimating how much time it would take to finish the final designs. More time must be allocated in case things go wrong.

After the final presentation I decided to revisit the letterforms. I spent a while re designing them so they looked more like my original designs in my sketch book.
