Shigeo Fukada

Shigeo Fukada

福田 繁雄

Shigeo Fukada was a sculptor, graphic artist and poster designer who created optical Illusions. His art pieces usually portray deception, such as Lunch With a Helmet On, a sculpture created entirely from forks, knives, and spoons, that casts a detailed shadow of a motorcycle.

Shigeo Fukada's work is something that I have always been very inspired by. He creates some of the optical illusions in his work that are incredibly clever and thought provoking.
An aspect of japanese design that I have always been interested in is Japanese type and scripture and although he doesn't use very much in his work, it still carries a very unique style that keeps me interested in his work.
