No News is Good News - Poster Series Anonymous Evaluations

Anonymous Evaluations

What Statement/fact/question is being communicated to you?

1. The arrival of a comet/shooting star that doesn't have an impact on the planet. Something that could have potentially been a disaster, hasn't.

2. A comet came towards the earth and everyone panicked, but it was o.k!

Is this being communicated in a clear and focused way? YES/YES
What could be developed further?

1. Making the subject matter just a bit clear! As I am not too sure what the exact story is, point made! One of the posters could explain the story a bit more.

2. There is a pencil mark that has forgotten to be rubbed out. The text poster could have been the same background as the text of the posters, perhaps grey writing.

Have the posters been kept "simple and to the point?" YES/YES
Is the a statement, fact or question being posed?

1. It is really simple and works really well! the use of recognisable symbols such as the earth makes it easier to understand. The statements are warnings that communicate relief.

2. Statement, a humorous and sarcastic play on the article.

Has the restrictions of two colours plus stock been met? YES/YES
Are the two colours plus stock appropriated to the solution YES/YES
Why are the two colours plus stock appropriate to the solution?

1. The use of colour makes the posters a success. There is, in my opinion an obvious reference to the Sci - Fi genre, which relates to the story well! Also with "Planet X is coming/in cinemas" the theme is evident!
Maybe you could have added the to (phew) to make it more consistant.

2. The colours are quite 'Red Dwarf'. Perhaps a more subtle black would work better? It hurts my eyes!

Do the posters work as a set or series? YES/YES
Why do they work as a set or a series? What ideas could have been developed further?

1. The colour and type is consistant on all the posters. Its evident that they are a set. Also all the statements made have a comical and sarcastic tone, which again makes them link. You could have changed the Earth and commit on the image poster for a different approach.

2. Just the first poster - the red background makes the set seem like they have a second and third. They look like they belong together.

Is it clearly evident which poster is TYPE, IMAGE and TYPE and IMAGE?

1. Yes it's really clear and each poster has been considered well. Look at the type. The ' is missing from its and the the end of read the end ot.

2. yes

Are the posters "memorable, immediate high impact and clear"?

1. the colours used make the posters stand out which in turn makes them memorable. Its funny and leaves the audience in suspense, as the true story hasn't been covered. Also it is clear and easy to read / understandable.

2. They are very bold, funny and so memorable. The text is appropriate and so are the images.

Do you feel the brief has been fulfilled to its full potential? YES/YES
Further Feedback...

1. Good work (apart from some of the type.) They work really well, each poster is different and doesn't use the same image or statement. most people have just enlarged the image or type.
The medium used is also interesting, you could now try it digitally!

2. A lot of planning has been put into this and it is evident. They all work on their own to!
